First job out of school was doing radio production for a startup internet-only radio station called RadioBoston.com. It was ahead of its time, unfortunately. I also did a short stint at the station’s parent company working on graphic design. It was fun while it lasted until I got to dreaming about sunny Southern California. Tried that for a year and then came back to reality..
It was a big jump for me at the time and I was very nervous. Fake it ’til you make it, right? I sure did. And Houston quickly became my home. I’ve lived here longer than anywhere else in my life and I’m grateful to have amazing friends and family here with me. Professionally, we’ve had lots of fun on KPRC 2 News Today. Here’s just one blooper (we’ve had many):
I bought a warehouse on the north side of Houston and together with my uncle and my old college roommate, we built a production studio. We shot video, photography, produced content, live events, and a lot of other random creative projects. Owning a small business was certainly an eye-opening life experience. We’ve since closed the business and now rent the space to a production company which uses it for the reasons we built it.
